The Makes window, an opening on Cilaos

The Makes window is a belvedere perched at an altitude of 1,587 meters in the forest of the small hamlet of Les Makes belonging to the municipality of Saint-Louis. Located in the southwest of Reunion Island, this platform offers a breathtaking view of the Circus of Cilaos, its islets and its famous road with 400 bends, the Piton des Neiges and the Grand Bénare.

You can easily access the lookout by car, prefer to go early in the morning before the fog clears to fully enjoy the scenery. From the Fenêtre des Makes, a superb hike to the Piton Cabris du Mafate Circus waiting for you. Fancy a fun and unusual activity?

Get on a quad bike, a kind of 4-wheel mountain bike. Travel through the forest of Makes to finish your race at the window of the Cilaos caldera.
