The beach of Grande Anse, a picnic paradise
Grande Anse is located in the south of Reunion Island in the town of Petite-Île. Small bay at the foot of Piton de Grande Anse, it stands out thanks to its vast white sand beach bordered by coconut palms and vacoas.
Considered by the Reunionese as one of the most beautiful beaches of the intense island, Grande Anse is very popular for picnics on weekends and public holidays, a real institution in Reunion.
Grande Anse beach was recently ranked the ninth most beautiful beach in France
Swimming is prohibited because it is dangerous in the face of the violence of the waves of the Indian Ocean and sometimes the presence of sharks. But rest assured, a natural swimming pool has been created for you to cool off and enjoy the spectacle of tropical fish and corals.
A victim of its own success, improvements have finally come into being. Thus, you will find a large car park with a park strewn with pedestrian walkways and picnic areas equipped with wood-fired barbecue.
With friends or family, challenge yourself for a game of pétanque. Form your teams in pairs or triplets and throw the jack on the bowling alley of Grande Anse. The team that will be Fanny pays for the rum!
Does that make you want to stay there for a whole weekend? No problem ! You can use the sanitary blocks with toilets and showers at your convenience. And for the food, nothing could be simpler! Order from a bar truck present by the beach with curry and samoussa on the menu to accompany the aperitif.
